Role: Lead UX/UI Designer | Period: 2020 - 2022 | Compamny: MINT Software Systems

Establishing a UX/UI Team and Design Culture

At MINT Software Systems, I initiated and led the formation of a dedicated UX/UI team within the Product Management (PM) department. This team became the cornerstone of product innovation, streamlining design workflows and fostering collaboration between developers, stakeholders, and designers. As the first UX Designer and later the Lead Designer at MINT, I drove user-centric design across the company’s products and new features by embedding structured processes and open communication channels.

Developing a Unified Design System

One of my first accomplishments was creating a comprehensive design system that became the single source of truth for all visual and interaction standards. This system included:

  • Reusable and standard components,

  • Consistent typography and colour schemes,

  • Standardized interaction guidelines,

The design system significantly reduced development time, ensured cross-platform consistency, and enhanced collaboration between designers and developers.

Mobile App Redesign

New TMS App - MINT TMS

A significant task of the UX/UI Design team was the complete redesign of the TMS Mobile App, aligning it with the new design system and ensuring compliance with iOS and Android Human Interface Guidelines. Key updates included:

  • Responsive Design: Redesigned forms and reports to adapt seamlessly to various screen sizes and resolutions.

  • New Dashboard: Introduced a task and schedule dashboard, simplifying access to assigned tasks, certificates, forms, and corporate updates.

  • Enhanced Notifications: Organized notifications by task priority and date, streamlining user engagement.

  • Improved Accessibility: Implemented features such as adjustable text sizes, high-contrast colours, and various interface modifications to meet WCAG standards, ensuring that users of all abilities can navigate and utilize the app effectively.

TMS Web App Redesign and Feature Development

As part of MINT’s digital transformation, I led the redesign of the TMS Web App, moving it from a legacy JavaScript-based application to a modern web solution. This initiative prioritized performance, responsiveness, and accessibility.

Web App Redesign Highlights

  • Migration to a Modern Web Solution: Transitioned the platform to a responsive web-based solution, reducing loading times by 75% and enabling seamless performance across devices and browsers.

  • Interface Modernization: Introduced a clean, intuitive, and accessible interface aligned with MINT’s design system.

  • Accessibility Enhancements: Ensured compliance with accessibility standards, including improved navigation for screen readers and keyboard users.

Feature Development Highlights

Resource/Manager Dashboard:

  • Replaced overwhelming notification-based systems with an intuitive dashboard for tracking resource utilization, project timelines, and tasks.

  • Added customizable daily, weekly, and monthly views to enhance end-user control.

  • Introduced manager customization of the dashboard and enabled publishing for all end-users, ensuring consistency across the company.

Workflow/Automation Maker:

  • Designed a drag-and-drop interface for creating, editing, and managing automated workflows.

  • Included custom triggers, notifications, completion criteria, and workflow replication capabilities for scalability.

  • Introduced the ability to delegate certifications and approvals automatically.

Resource Scheduling Solution

The redesigned scheduling tool served both end-users and managers, streamlining task and resource management:

  • For End-Users [resources]: Personalized calendars display assigned tasks, schedules, and company-wide events. Features like colour-coded events and responsive design make it easy to stay organized across devices.

  • For Managers: An overlay comparison tool allows managers to view multiple resource schedules, assign tasks via drag-and-drop, and resolve conflicts. Quick navigation and filters enable efficient scheduling and real-time adjustments.
